I have to say, also, that the copyediting and cover design processes on my book at @OpenBookPublish so far has been superb.

Been somewhat sluggish today as had a bit of a relapse. Feeling better now though and these days get fewer and further between.
Hoping there will be biscuits. That would have an impact on me.
Off to an "Impact Evidence Masterclass" and I don't quite know why I do this to myself.

What I think I actually need to look at (and now recompute) is intra-text frequency relative to novel vs. intra-corpus frequency of the OEC.
Looks just like a Zipf's law type of relationship skewed by my initial "less than" bracket.
Have isolated that word distribution as I am currently measuring it is a feature of the corpus or of literary fiction in general. Drat.
What does the profile of a contemporary English novel look like? How different is this from the overall shape/profile of the OEC?
Next steps/questions: Is this how one writes to sound like an 1850s novel? Do novels from the 1850s have a similar distribution?
My res. on Oxford English Corpus: 52% of words in Cloud Atlas Part I (1850s) used in less than 0.001% cases in average contemporary English.
