Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to express my anger at the closure of the British Library, a publicly-funded building, on the 10th of November in order to accommodate the visit of the queen. This is a clear case of prioritizing a single individual at the expense of the thousands who use your facility on a daily basis and is a flagrant waste of taxpayers' money.

1.) The queen has no work to do here. The researchers who use your facility do. Furthermore, many of us are on tight funding deadlines which will not accept the excuse that we were unable to conduct our research because of her majesty's visit.

2.) It is an outrageous waste of taxpayer's money to clear the entire site in order to conduct what is, essentially, a publicity stunt. If management want to claim that they are short on funds, they could do better than to squander money in this fashion.

I respectfully request a written response to this complaint.

Yours sincerely,

Martin Paul Eve
